GCAN Remote I/O Overview
GCAN Remote I/O modules provide distributed digital and analog I/O for CAN-based industrial automation systems. By placing I/O closer to field devices, they help reduce wiring, simplify installation and extend machine control systems with greater flexibility.
Designed for industrial communication and automation applications, GCAN Remote I/O supports CAN and CANopen-based architectures, making it suitable for connecting sensors, switches, actuators and other field signals to PLCs and industrial controllers.
MoCAN supplies GCAN Remote I/O solutions as an independent industrial communication and automation solutions provider, with a focus on practical CAN-based integration.
CAN Bus Remote I/O Capabilities
GCAN Remote I/O modules provide flexible field signal expansion through CAN bus communication, supporting common industrial I/O functions such as digital input, digital output, analog input and analog output.
Compared with traditional centralized wiring, distributed CAN I/O allows signals to be collected and controlled closer to sensors and actuators, reducing cable requirements and improving system flexibility. Multiple I/O modules can be connected through a single CAN network, making them suitable for machine builders and system integrators who need scalable automation solutions.
With reliable CAN communication and industrial design, GCAN Remote I/O helps connect field devices with PLCs, controllers and other CAN-based automation equipment.
CANopen Remote I/O Integration
GCAN CANopen Remote I/O modules can operate as distributed nodes in CANopen networks, providing a standardized way to exchange I/O data with PLCs, CANopen masters and industrial controllers.
Through PDO communication, real-time input and output data can be transferred efficiently between the Remote I/O modules and the control system. SDO communication allows device configuration, parameter setting and access to object dictionary entries during system setup and maintenance.
With support for CANopen concepts such as Node ID, object dictionary and communication objects, GCAN Remote I/O can be integrated into structured CANopen automation architectures for machine control and distributed applications.
